Recommendations for caring for Tkach cotton bedding:
1. Wash bedding separately from other items, separating white and colored fabrics, natural and synthetic blends. It is recommended to wash children's bedding separately from other items.
2. Before washing, turn the bedding inside out, and if there are buttons or zippers, fasten them (this preserves softness and the initial appearance and prevents sun damage during drying, etc.).
3. If possible, soak dark/richly colored fabrics in warm water with a small amount of vinegar before the first wash to help fix the dye.
4. Use gentle laundry detergents that do not contain chlorine. Liquid laundry detergents are recommended.
5. For the first 2-3 washes, use a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
6. Subsequent washes can be done at a temperature of 40°C.
7. To improve rinsing and prevent color loss on folds, leave some free space in the washing machine drum, filling it no more than 2/3 full.
8. Select the "Delicate/Hand Wash" cycle and spin at speeds up to 600 RPM.
9. Dry the bedding by hanging it up inside out.
10. Iron the fabric at a temperature not exceeding 110°C. Avoid pressing down on the fabric, and use steam to treat any creased areas. It is preferable to iron the fabric when slightly damp or mist it with water before ironing.
11. After ironing, allow the bedding to air out and reach room temperature.
Important! Avoid using high temperatures in the washing machine for washing bedding as it can damage the fabric and cause a loss of its appearance. This is especially true for the first wash, which is necessary to remove residual chemicals from dyeing and eliminate any specific factory odors.
Plain-woven fabrics have many advantages, withstand numerous washes, are absorbent, retain patterns well, and are cost-effective. Although they are practical and do not require special care, they, like many other fabrics with only cotton fibers, may shrink by approximately 3-5%. In fact, the fabric may shrink even more than 5% if not washed correctly!
It is advisable to store white fabrics away from direct sunlight to prevent yellowing over time.
